Who wants to PLAY?!

Wow, it has really been forever since I've been on here. You have all probably forgotten about us. Well, nothing has happened except for recently. So, I'll give my update and maybe mom will talk about her trip to Mexico sometime in her lifetime!

Well, lately I've been craving to be on stage. So i was really excited to hear that the Terrace Plaza Playhouse (a nearby theatre) was putting on the production of The Music Man. I've been in it before, but it was my very first play and i was really young. So, I was already familiar with the play and all the songs.

I went to auditions last Saturday, the 6th. The funny part was that the night before I went to our school basketball game and screamed like crazy. All i can say is: thank goodness for my very strong, very loud, and very enduring Rencher voice!

Auditions went well, and i was so glad to know that she remembered me from my last play there, (sound of music at the beginning of the year). I made it to call backs. On Wednesday at callbacks, we danced and sang "the wells Fargo wagon". Then the final cast was posted on their website on Friday. For those of you who aren't familiar with "The Music Man" there is only one part my age. Zaneeta Shinn is a teen age girl with a teen age boyfriend that isn't approved of my her father, the mayor. It's a pretty good part, but I didn't think I would make it. I just hoped for a towns person dancer. There are lots of scenes with big dance numbers, so that would be fun.

anywho, I held my breath as i looked at the cast and was so shocked to see my name with Zaneeta shinn next to it! I couldn't believe it!
(the only problem is that the boy who plays my "boyfriend" is a kid i know from school, and to put it nicely...gets on my nerves). So now i get to be in all the dance numbers AND have lines and a name! it was a nice surprise. i am super duper excited. our first practice is on Jan. 3rd. I can't wait to get started and be on stage again.

Well, I'll try and keep you better updated on things. Now i will have something to write about. bye! -Amber jo (zaneeta) Rencher
